Background:
Plastic surgery is a field distinguished by its pioneering spirit, constantly innovating procedures and products. However, with growing competition from non-surgical aesthetics performed by various medical specialties, the discipline needs innovative advancements to propel it forward into novel treatment possibilities. While numerous publications highlight innovative technologies and techniques within plastic surgery, there remns a scarcity of work that emphasizes applying principles of innovation specifically in this specialty.

We reviewed literature on business strategies for innovation to identify frameworks applicable to plastic surgery.
Results:
Our analysis encompasses understanding the innovation process idea generation, evaluation, conversion, diffusion, ethical considerations, and practical implementation within plastic surgery. These concepts provide a foundational framework for advancing procedures that align with industry standards while fostering ethical practice.

Adopting an innovative business model is pivotal in promoting transformative progress for plastic surgery, driving it towards new horizons of excellence.
