Leading Plastic Surgery Department: Expertise, Innovation, and Comprehensive Services at Union Hospital

The Department of Plastic Surgery at the Union Hospital affiliated with Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology is a pioneering institution in aesthetic and plastic surgery within China, actively driving advancements in this field across central and southern regions. Currently led by Professor Sun Jiaming - an esteemed academic figure, expert on stem cells and tissue engineering, a Chief Physician, national-level professor, and doctoral supervisor.

The department offers comprehensive services encompassing four major areas: Surface Organ Repr Reconstruction, Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Laser Treatment, and Injection Cosmetic procedures. It is known for its expertise in Breast Plastic Surgery, Craniomaxillofacial Plastic Surgery, treatment of Body Surface Tumors, Rhinoplasty, Otoplasty, Body Contouring and Abdominoplasty, Injection Cosmetics, Liposuction Plastic Surgery, Facial Rhytidectomy, Scar Revisions, Laser Therapies, Perineal plastic surgery, Cleft Lip Palate repr, treatment of Hemangiomas, and reconstructive surgeries for body surfaces.

This department is recognized as a National Commission of Health and Family Planning trning base for plastic surgeons, a National Key Clinical Specialty center, a Huazhong University of Science and Technology postgraduate program hub, holding the vice-chr position in both Plastic Surgery Society of the Chinese Medical Association and Plastic Surgery Branch of the Chinese Research Hospital Association. It also boasts numerous leadership roles within provincial societies.

In 2019, the department was ranked fifth nationwide for its overall hospital performance according to Chinese hospitals rankings.
